 El Present perfect expresa una acción en el pasado cuyos resultados tienen efecto en el presente, o sea hay una relación directa entre el pasado y el presente.

El present perfect muchos veces corresponde al pretérito perfecto compuesto del español.

También usamos el present perfect cuando hablamos de cosas que hemos hecho sin decir cuando.

• I have seen the film. - He visto la película.
• We have repaired the car. - Hemos arreglado el coche.

Para hablar de acciones repetidas hasta ahora..

• I have called him 3 times. - Le he llamado 3 veces
• She has been to London many times. - Ella ha estado muchas veces en Londres.

Usamos been cuando hablamos de ir y volver y 'gone' si se trata de sólo ir y no haber vuelto todavía.

• He has been to London many times. - Ha estado en Londres muchas veces.
• She has gone to Canada. - ¿Se ha ido a Canadá.

Usa 'have just + participio' para decir 'acabar de + verbo en infinitivo'....

• She has just gone out. - Ella acaba de salir.

Si decimos cuando ocurrió una acción tenemos que usar el past simple con yesterday (ayer), last week (la semana pasada), 2 years ago (hace 2 años) etc .

• I saw the film last week. - Vi la película la semana pasada.
• We repaired the yesterday. - Arreglamos el coche ayer.
